4500 Series Electric

 

We’ve got the power to super-charge your Shur-Lok®! The 4500 Series features a powerful motor with all-metal casing and a brake that does not require electrical energy to actuate. It brakes with opposing magnetic polarities, so there are no moving parts or electrical connections to fail. A bolt-on shroud offers easy motor access.

The 4500’s patent-pending motor produces optimal torque, not just an increase which can be detrimental to the system. The flexible mounting bracket offers freedom on two different axes to easily accommodate the occasional bent roll tube or uneven tarp roll.

Our new rubber boot, located on the flexible joint/elbow, provides protection from wear and tear due to the sun or other debris. An additional flexible elbow, called the Gate Flex™ option, bypasses side-mount hinges to accommodate tailgates.

Run the 4500, plus four more 12-volt Shur-Co® accessories, with our five-channel SMARTransmitter®. It deactivates when the flip-style cover is closed or after three minutes of inactivity. Upgrade to a cab- or trailer-mounted master disconnect switch to kill power to the tarp and traps – no complicated button sequence required.

The 4500 Series is a powerful upgrade for existing manual or electric side-to-side tarping systems and is as easy to install as it is to operate. All electrical components and wire are included, and the sealed SMARTwire™ harness helps prevent corrosion of connectors.

The 4500's SMARTwire™ harness has sealed connections for greatly reduced install time - no additional wire stripping or crimping of connections is required. You get plug-and-play convenience for your electric tarp and ProTraps, plus a 12-volt tap to supply power for your LiteALL™ LED work light package and other future add-ons. The SMARTwire™ harness has molded rubber connectors and silicon seals, full 1/4-inch brass pins and sockets and dual 6-gauge wire.

The 4500 motor carries a three-year warranty. In case of power failure, the motor can be disengaged and the exposed spline accessed for manual cranking. A cab-installed rocker switch allows you to open and close the system from the comfort of your truck cab. Our SMARTransmitter® is available for further convenience and faster operation.
